On Tuesday, May 10 from 5-8 PM, Dighton Public Library will present a Children’s Trust workshop called Keeping Kids Safe. The Children’s Trust is a Massachusetts organization that works with over 100 of the most effective family support agencies across the Commonwealth to provide high-quality services that help children and families thrive.
When is the best time to teach my child about sexual abuse? How young is too young? How do I do it without making him or her fearful of others? In this workshop, parents will learn the best practices for establishing a culture of safety within their home, school, and community. Parents will learn to communicate comfortably about sexual abuse, whether your child is with you or another caregiver. Short videos designed for parents will demonstrate some of the challenges and obstacles of this complex topic.
A light supper and free childcare will be provided. Registration is required for this program. To register, contact the Dighton Public Library at 508-669-6421.
