The Dighton Library is taking up a service project – with your help. At the suggestion of one of our library users, we are inviting knitters and wanna-be knitters (or crochet-ers) to make red hats for infants and preemies. The Library will collect them and make sure they are delivered to area hospitals for babies born during February. Hats are delivered in February in honor of the American Heart Association’s Little Hats, Big Hearts campaign, which raises awareness of heart disease, the number one killer of Americans, and congenital heart defects, the most common type of birth defect in the country. For more information please contact Jocelyn at the Library.
The deadline for dropping off all hats is Wednesday, December 7. We would like to honor you all and thank you with a small social and get together that evening at the Library. More details to come.
