Pay Your Library Fees Online!

Along with the SAILS Library Network (a nonprofit library cooperative providing technology solutions for libraries throughout Southeastern Massachusetts), the Dighton Public Library is able to offer patrons the ability to pay overdue fines and fees when logged into their Dighton library accounts in the online library catalog.

The Dighton Library is using an online payment solution that links with the library’s existing system so payments are automatically posted to patron accounts.  Patrons will be able to use their credit or debit cards to make fines and fees payments, all through the library’s catalog at any time, day or night.  Those payments will be posted in real time to patrons’ accounts.
Patrons will need their library card and PIN numbers to log into the catalog and retrieve details of their library account. They will be able to see their balance, select items to pay, and securely charge their credit card. There is a $.50 credit card processing fee per transaction not per individual fine paid.

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), is an information security standard that organizations handling cardholder data must adhere to when developing products that collect this information. There are several requirements under the standard, and meeting them can be difficult and costly.  The new service meets the PCI DSS standard and current state privacy regulations, as well as the security requirements of every major card processor and financial institution.  SAILS Library network and the Dighton Public Library do not collect or store any personal information or credit or debit card processing data.
