Soap Making Workshop

Kulina Folk Art leads this soap making workshop on Friday, August 10 from 1:00 – 2:00. This workshop is designed for children ages 5 and up. Each participant will make their own soapy creations using glycerin based soap and adding colors and scents. The process does not involve traditional soap making techniques, so there is no lye exposure.

Once the soap base has cooled slightly, we will add color, embed the goldfish and plants and add cosmetic grade glitter and essential oil (optional). At the end of the workshop each participant will take home their handmade soap, which can be unmolded the following day and used right away. Soap is approximately 4.50 oz. with two 1.75” goldfish and overall measurements of 2.75” x 6” x  1/2”.

Since the soap can get hot, a parent or guardian must be present for children under the age of 10 to lend a helping hand.

Registration is required and limited to 20 participants (we only count the number of people making a bar of soap).  Register at the library or call 508-669-6421 to sign up.
