How to get a Library Card
Cards may be issued to any resident of Massachusetts who present proof of valid address (license, ID, or mail at current address.) A parent or legal guardian must be present for any child under age 16 receiving a library card.
Out of state residents who do not own property, or who do not work in Massachusetts have the option of paying $55 for a library card that is honored at all SAILS libraries, or, being issued a free library card that can only be used for borrowing in Dighton.
Temporary cards are available for those people who have never been issued a library card before. Use this card for the Overdrive eBook and audiobook collections and for placing holds on the physical collection. Then, come in to the Library with your ID to make your card a permanent one. Apply for the temporary card here.

Pay Your Library Fees Online
You are able to use their credit or debit cards to make fines and fees payments, all through the library’s catalog at any time, day or night. Those payments will be posted in real time to patrons’ accounts.
The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), is an information security standard that organizations handling cardholder data must adhere to when developing products that collect this information. There are several requirements under the standard, and meeting them can be difficult and costly. The new service meets the PCI DSS standard and current state privacy regulations, as well as the security requirements of every major card processor and financial institution. SAILS Library network and the Dighton Public Library do not collect or store any personal information or credit or debit card processing data.
