Intro to Canning – Thursday October 22nd

Curious about canning but not sure where to start? Stop by the Library on Thursday October 22nd at 6:00 in the Program Room for a beginner-friendly introduction to home canning. We will talk briefly about the science behind the process: what makes food and supplies shelf-stable and why method and timing matter and then walk through different canning methods while explaining when each one is used. Every attendee will take home a handout of processing times and methods for future reference along with a pressure-canned jar containing sterile water and a washcloth. This program is free to attend, and no prior experience is needed. All supplies and equipment will be provided, so call the Library at (508) 669-6421 to reserve your spot.
